Arts Off-Campus Lecture Series: James Griesheimer

ArtHaus is pleased to continue it's Arts Off-Campus lectures series with an upcoming presentation and conversation with former Luther College Music Professor and Musicologist, James Griesheimer on Saturday, April 28 at 4pm. This lecture is part of an ongoing series that brings the research of Luther College faculty off campus to downtown Decorah where the public can gather at ArtHaus in an intimate and casual atmosphere to explore the role of the arts in contemporary society.
The event is open to the public: a suggested donation of $5-$10 is encouraged.

Originally from Chillicothe, Ohio, Jim Griesheimer took up clarinet in 5th grade, switched to oboe in college, and settled on musicology for most of his teaching career. He retired from Luther College music department in 2015. He was a Fulbright Scholar in musicology to Munich, 1973-75, has played oboe in numerous professional orchestras, and also taught at New Mexico State University and Middlebury College.
Griesheimer is known for bringing music history to life. People will go away from this engaging presentation with an understanding of Mozart and his music in a whole new way.  His presentation is entitled Mozart at His Most Personal: The Piano Concerto.

Established in 2008, ArtHaus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in downtown Decorah, Iowa that provides high-quality, hands-on experiences and year-round, accessible public arts events in the visual, performing, and literary arts.
